de fapt e * thankful, dar hai să-ți fac textul.
Thanksgiving is an event in November that stated that each family member will sit by a table full of delicious food , most often Turkey with some side potatoes dipped in sauce. Each family member must say what they're thankful for , like this: I'm thankful for ____(blanc) for doing _____(blanc). A very nice gathering , but What are the consequences? did other countries others do it? Why does it even exist?
We shall start with the last question.
who emigrated from England in the 1620s and 1630s carried the tradition of Days of Fasting and Days of Thanksgiving with them to New England. The modern Thanksgiving holiday tradition is traced to a well-recorded 1619 event in Virginia and a sparsely documented 1621 celebration at Plymouth in present-day Massachusetts.
Several days of Thanksgiving were held in early New England history that have been identified as the "First Thanksgiving", including Pilgrim holidays in Plymouth' in 1621 and 1623, and a Puritan holiday in Boston' in 1631. According to historian Jeremy Bangs, director of the Leiden Amricans Pilgrim, the Pilgrims may have been influenced by watching the annual services of Thanksgiving for the relief of the Siege of Leiden in 1574, while they were staying in Leiden.
Now for the first question, the answer is yes. They include : Germany in early October, Korea, Japan and Grenada. But don't get that wrong, it is primarily celebrated in Canada and America.
Now for the consequences, there aren't too many, or are there? Despite looking as an innocent tradition, approximately 280 million turkeys were sacrificed for this event. It is even said that they fear Thanksgiving so much that they really want to escape, but they can't, being flightless birds. But why do we even eat them? Well , it's because
It helps to know a bit about the history of Thanksgiving. While the idea of giving thanks and celebrating the harvest was popular in certain parts of the country, it was by no means an annual national holiday. Presidents would occasionally declare a Thanksgiving Day celebration, but the holiday hadn't completely caught on nationwide. Many of these early celebrations included turkey; Alexander Hamilton once remarked that, "No citizen of the U.S. shall refrain from turkey on Thanksgiving Day."
in conclusion, The Thanksgiving event is a truly marvelous thing to happen , but of course it does have it's downsides.
Sper că te-am ajutat! :)
