I am for the first time in Alexandria and I can say I have fallen in love with this magnificent place. It is a city in Egypt and it was founded by the well-known Alexander the Great. Alexandria is also called "The Pearl of the Mediterranean".
During my visit of yesterday, I chose to admire the Great Library of Alexandria, a remaining of the ancient Grear Library. I didn't only visit the main library, but also the Manuscript Museum, the Antiquities Museum and the Science Museum. Another point of attraction where I succeeded to arrive yesterday was Fort Qaitbey. This site was once the place where the Pharos Lighthouse stood, one of the seven ancient wonders.
After these amazing activities, my plans for today include the Catacombs of Kom el-Shuqqafa, which are said to belong to the 2nd century AD, and the famous Pompey's Pillar, which was built on the ruins of the Temple of Serapis. In the evening, I hope to visit the Montazah Palace and Gardens.
There are so many other great places for visitors, but I only have had two spare days, tomorrow I will be on my way home.
