Emma could not believe what she saw in front of her. She was a prestigious writer at her time. Her work has been associated with Agatha Christie's and Stephen King's. Her novels drove chills down your spine and also put you in a surprisingly onerous position. Her masterpiece is the short novel 'Cut through the flesh' she wrote in her late 40s when she was first diagnosed with severe paranoia. It is an impressive point of view over sociopaths. The protagonist, a serial killer is seen as a paradox, she is empathic to his victims, but also states that she utterly understands the mere action of murdering which she compares with a hobby, an action that releases stress and fascinates the practitioner. The outstanding scene of Marmundius the killer butchering two teenage school girls is the reason she is remembered now as the Queen of paranoid serial killers. This is who Emma Vanitas was. On an ordinary Tuesday afternoon she was walking down the alley when she dropped her groceries in front of a Tudor style mansion. When she raised her eyes from the ground her jaw dropped and she stared right into a young woman eyes' chopping off a baby's all four limbs. This is what she saw at the grande window. She froze right there, not knowing what to do. The mad mother felt Emma's aweing stare and looked back at her, grinning like a psychopath. She wiped her sweaty forehead and rubby red cheeks with a baby-blue cloth and carefully closed the blinds, still maintaining the eye contact with the astonished Emma. Right before closing the last blind the mad mother placed her pointer finger on her chapped lips, tilted her head and nodded. In that moment the woman's eyes were shooting daggers at Emma who slowly picked up her groceries and walked away.
