I was alone in the house, reading a scary ghost story as snow was falling silently outside. The only sound was the ticking of a very old clock. I was absorbed in the story when I suddenly began to feel someone was watching me. It was around 3 am already, and the cold air sent a shiver down my spine. I didn't think much about it since it could be just my imagination, but then... I heard the wooden floor crack. My eyes widened as I froze in place. I took a silent breath and jumped off my couch, so I could look at the intruder... but there was no one here. So I sighed in relier and didn't think about it. I closed my book and made my way towards the bedroom, when suddenly I felt watched again. At this point I was shivering in fear, and stopped. I felt someone breathing down my neck, so I turned around and hit the stranger with the book as fast as I could and proceeded to run outside, calling the cops as the man was unconscious. Luckily, the man didn't wake up until the cops showed up but I am more relieved that I didn't die!
