Adam and Ben left university.
They both needed a job.
They decided to go on holiday together for the last time.
They stayed in a small hotel.
They didn't have much money.
It was the last day of their holiday.
On the way back from the beach they saw a fortune-teller.
Adam decided to visit the fortune-teller.
The fortune-teller predicted that Adam would soon get a good job , become rich and have a lot a children.
Adam was very pleased.
He told Ben about the fortune-teller's prediction.
Ben was jealous.
He pretended he didn't believe in fortune-tellers.
He didn't want to go to the fortune-teller.
Adam wanted to cheer Ben up.
Adam ran across the road to buy Ben a bottle of wine.
He didn't see a car coming round the corner.
Ben tried to warn him.
The car hit Adam.
He was badly injured.
In the night Adam nearly died.
Ben was by his bedside.
A week later , Adam started to recover.
Ben went back home.
He decided to go abroad.
He didn't tell Adam.
Two months later Adam came out of hospital.
He looked for Ben but couldn't find him.
Adam got a job as a waiter.
Ten years later Adam and Ben met by chance in London.
Ben had a good job overseas , was very rich and had four children.
He was working very hard but was not very happy.
