I saw Laura, an old friend of mine, last week while I was waiting for a train to London. We hadn't seen each other since leaving school nearly fifteen years ago. We lost/had lost contact because she had gone away to college to study law.
I expected her to be working as a layer, but she told me she had given everything up to work with blind children. She had only been in the job for a couple of weeks but she was really enjoying/had been really enjoying it.
It was great to see her again and we promised each other that we would keep in touch regularly now that she is back in the neighbourhood.
