Captain Orlov and his Aleut hunters camped for most of the summer to the beach of Coral Cove.
The Island was called “Island of the Dolphins” because of two reasons: first of all its shape looks like a dolphin and second of all there are many dolphins that live in those seas. Anorher thing particular about the island was the winds that blows almost every day.
The author’s father warned everyone not to visit the Captain’s Orlov camp because his men don’t understand friendship. Instead they were watching them from the cliffs and saw even a girl amoung the hunters.
Every spring was a poor season for fishing but author’s sister, Ulape, discovered one day, a school of huge white bass on the ledge. There was enough fish for everyone in the tribe, but the hunters came and asked them to share the fish with them. They were refused because they had dry fish and also because they were hunters and supposed to be able to catch a fish.
That night the tribe ate the rest of the white bass, not knowing that trouble was comeing.
