1. I bought a new house last year, but I haven't sold my old house yet, so at the moment I have two houses.
2. Mary has worked in Japan for two years. She is working there and likes it very much.
3. When I bought my new house I asked for a telephone. The Post Office told me to wait, but I have waited for a year now and my telephone still hasn't come.
4. When we met you said that nothing would induce you to come to England. What made you change your mind?
5. I have just heard that Peter is in Australia. Oh, you didn't know? He flew out at the beginning of the month.
6. I skied when I was at the university, but I broke a leg five years ago and since then I haven't done any.
7. When I first came to this house, it was a very quiet area. But since then a new housing estate has been built and it has become very noisy.
8. In the evenings I often play chess with my next door neighbour. I have played chess with him ever since I came to live here ten years ago. He has been here all his life; he inherited the house from his father, another great chess player.
9. There was a very good programme on last night. Have you seen it? No, I took my job back to the shop last week, so I haven't watched television since then.
