The last classification that stated the existence of five kingdom was by Robert Whittaker in 1969. The kingdoms were Monera, Protista, Fungi, Animals, Plants.
Moneras were originally unicellular organisms with prokaryotic cell structure, meaning they lack a nucleus.
Protista are eukaryotic organisms that don't fit the kingdoms Fungi, Animals and Plants.
Fungi share characteristics with both plants and animals, yet have sufficient different traits to form a kingdom of their own.
They lack chloroplasts, are immobile and need preformed organic compound to sustain their life.
Plants are important because they produce Oxygen that is essential for life on Earth. They are immobile and extract nutrients from water and the soil.
Animals are multicellular, eukaryotic organisms. They reproduce sexually and inhabit virtually all the environments. They are incredibly diverse and complex organisms.
