What does it mean when, "I can't go back to yesterday because I was a different person then?"?

I believe that this quote has multiple meanings,one of them being the fact that time is irreversible and that you can't turn it back. Another meaning would be that every person feels different every day, due to particular events, that differ on the aspect of the sensation given: for example, in a day you can feel happy because you did a good job and you were appreciated for that, but on the contrary, in another day you can feel sad or nostalgic because you failed an exam or something reminded you of someone you love that is dead or at miles away. However, our life is not monotonous, and that's why we can say that we are different people every day.
