Why is air pollution a serious threat to our environment? ( 7-10 lines )

Air pollution has always been a serious threat to our environment. Not only it damages the air that we breathe but it also does damage to the plants that grow in the soil , the ones our animals eat and therefore the food that we eat. 
This threat should be taken seriously by high authorities and there should be actions done to prevent it from going even further and damaging our everyday life.
