The environment is the natural world, as a whole or in a particular geographical area, especially as affected by human activity.
Since the Industrial Revolution of the mid-19th century, there were introduced new sources of air and water pollution. By the middle of the 20th century, the effects of these changes were beginning to be felt in countries around the world.
Our environment faces several problems, and many of these seem to be worsening with time, bringing us into a time of a true environmental crisis. It is therefore becoming increasingly important to raise awareness of the existence of these issues, as well as what can be done to reduce their negative impact. Some of the worst environmental issues are pollution, climate change, overpopulation, deforestation and waste disposal.
In my opinion, climate change was caused by humans and it is the defining issue of our time and we are at a defining moment, and we can solve it. The best science we have tells us that to avoid the worst impacts of climate change, we must globally achieve net-zero carbon emissions no later than 2050.
Some of the biggest polluters are China, with more than 10,065 million tons of CO2 released, United States, with 5,416 million tons of CO2 and India, with 2,654 million tons of CO2.
The climate will never return to normal. Even if emissions of greenhouse gases were to suddenly stop, Earth's surface temperature would require thousands of years to cool and return to the level in the pre-industrial era.
In conclusion, even if the climate will never return to normal, we can solve the climate change by keeping the fossil fuels in the ground, investing in renewable energy, reducing plastic, protecting the oceans etc.
