I consider that social media can have a positive impact, but also a negative one.
Firstly, social media has developed throughout the years. It is commonly used as entertainment, but can also be helpful in many other ways. On social media you can connect with your friends and strangers. Let’s say one day you are feeling down and would like to talk to
someone but no one is available, however you don’t necessarily need a live person to talk to. People often post on social media all kind of stuff. You can find funny videos, useful information and in this scenario, motivational quotes or other things that can help you be happy again.
On the contrary, as nice and useful as social media is, it can also be very toxic. Social media is public, meaning everyone is there and not a lot of things remain private. Sadly, there are certain people on this world, who hide behind a screen and enjoy being toxic to others. There are chances that someone might say something negative to you- even if they don’t know you- just because they can. That’s why it’s better to try to make everything as private as possible.
In conclusion, social has it downsides and upsides.
