The day he was adopted by the Moriarty family he has plotted with his new brother Jason, and his actually related brother Luis, to burn down the Moriarty residence and kill the parents, and Jason's related brother.
The plan succeeded and John took Jason's blood - related brother's place.

Now Wiliam Moriarty works with his brothers and kills the greedy rich men, that have hurt the poor.
His last crime was Edward, he killed him because the greedy bastard killed a woman after raping her because she asked him for food. But even tho the crime was so smartly planned, a man names Holmes came in, and destroyed everything.
Holmes was a really smart man, he wasn't officially a policeman but he was helping them with resolving crimes, when they looked intresting. He looked into Edward's past and followed all the traces he got, but nothing. Then another crime appeared, planed as well as the other one. Holmes realised they were planed by the same person. He realized that there were other rich people killed in almost the same manner. He came to the conclusion that one person, or a group, planned them all,which was in fact true because the Moriarty family has done everything.
He came up with a name for him and that was Lord of crime.
The next crime appears. This time it was Oliver. Holmes has planed to solve this whole mistery now. He has research everyone's location and checked if they had a alibi. William said he was teaching math at the local university, the only and biggest mistakes he made.
In a few days, Holmes came to his house and arrested him.By the time the crime occurred, William said he was teaching math, the problem is that Holmes estimates the crime time as between 3-5 AM. In Friday night on summer. Even if students had summer lessons, they wouldn't be at school in a Friday night. William has now realised his mistake and accepted prison, even tho he was executed 5 days after. His brothers committed suicide, and the Moriarty era ended there. . Holmes became one of the best detectives, but never forgot about the Lord of crime.
