The pros and cons of online communication
One of the biggest pros of online communication is being able to connect with people from all around the world and to stay comfortable in your own preferred environment. Sometimes we'd rather spend time at home and enter an online meeting because we have everything we need and it is easier to just get up in the morning, put some house slippers on and join our school meetings while having breakfast. You can always take your phone or tablet with you wherever you go.
Although this sounds appealing at face value, it has its downsides too.
We might face bad internet connection and when in an important meeting, this could be a serious issue. Hackers are also easier to get into your data, and steal important information from you while you're browsing everyday on the internet.
On the other hand, face-to-face communication has no such problems as that. It is easier and it makes the experience with the person you're talking to much better. You can enjoy your time to the fullest and read the other person's body language, which helps with getting to know them better.
The disadvantages of face-to-face communication can be finding the best time to meet at. Petrol and Diesel cost money, and if you don't have a car it makes things even worse. The chances of getting harmed directly are higher than when you're sitting at home on your chair. It is also ineffective when you find yourself in a large gathering, because it limits the time and you cannot hear everyone out.
In conclusion, it all depends on what each person prefers most. Some people might be more antisocial and they would prefer online communication, whereas outgoing people would usually prefer face-to-face communication.
