i've got something to show you lady cliford,said the boy .something extraordinary.the boy meets lady cliford in front of the door leading to the basement.what have you got? a rhinoceros.a live rhinoceros?now listen ,mikey ,if you weren't my friend i'd be very angry with you for trying to pull my leg.but mrs cliford, you know i wouldn't do such a thing to you.where is it?asked the lady.here ,in the basement,behind this little door.as a matter of fact,it's a very small rhinoceros, a baby rhinoceros,my goodness!however did you get it? a man sold it to me.the man stopped me in the street .he was carrying basket and in the basket he had the rhinoceros.he said he had it from a friend who had just returned from Africa.if my mum and dad knew it ,they wouldn't let me keep it.that's why i shut it up in the cellarmickey ,you shouldn't have done such a thing.
