United States- The US has so much variety and diversity, i.e. New York is nothing like Hawaii. There are something for everyone in the US, if you like a buzzing city with galleries and shopping, New York is perfect. Or if you like the beach, you can go to Hawaii, California, Florida or South Carolina. I follow and have a big interest in US politics and by going there, I can understand the issues first hand. I did an exchange to the US and loved the experience.
Germany- The infrastructure in Germany is second to none and everything works like clockwork. Trains, planes and buses all run on time and the streets are very clean. Berlin has many fantastic museums and sights, such as the Brandenburg Gate and the Berlin Wall. Munich and Heidelberg have fantastic beer and historical buildings which were untouched by WWII.
Brazil- Although Brazil does have a problem with crime and corruption, the country is a melting pot of European, African and Indigenous culture. As with the US, different states are completely different from each other, an example being the difference between Rio de Janeiro and Bahia. I love the Brazilian laid back approach to life. (although you wouldn’t know it witnessing the rush hour traffic in Rio on a Friday night) You also have the Amazon rainforest which needs no introduction. The passion they have for football/soccer is unrivalled.
France- Home to fantastic food, wine and culture. Paris is my favourite megacity, home to the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and Les Jardins du Luxembourg among others. My favourite French city however is Bordeaux. It is quite like Paris in a lot of ways except it is much smaller. The wine is fantastic and the weather in the South-West is very pleasant. I did a language exchange and work experience there which helped me fall in love with the city. The French have a lot of pride in their language, culture and identity. Food in France is always cooked to maximum perfection.
