The book is very interesting (yes, I have already read it), I recommend you to read this book in your free time :). The book is very emotional, I guess you will love it.

The story takes place in Kyrenia, Cyprus in July 1974. The Turkish Army has invaded the town. For many people, this means an end to life as they kow it. But for some, it's a chance to begin a new life. (introduction) 

Everybody was talking about Koki. They never believed that she was her father's daughter. Her mother died too soon to quiet their wagging tongues. She became pregnant and there was no sign of a husband. Her fate was sealed.
So she decided to live outside the town. She was hiding from her neighbours' eyes. But, held captive by the army with the very women who had made her life so lonely, Koki is finally able to tell them the truth. To talk of the Turkish shoe-maker who came to the town and took her heart away with him when he left.

About Christy Lefteri: she was born in 1980 to Greek Cypriot parents who moved to London in 1974 during the Turkish Invasion. This novel is her first great book.
