As she carried the kitten in her arms, she stumbled upon an old, creaky cottage. Inside, she found a witch brewing a potion. The witch noticed Alice and the kitten and invited them in for tea.
During their chat, the witch revealed that the kitten was a guardian of the forest, and it was her duty to protect it from harm. The witch offered to teach Alice how to make potions, but only if she promised to protect the forest.
Alice agreed, and the witch taught her how to create a potion that would give the drinker the ability to fly. Alice was thrilled, and with the witch's help, she brewed the potion and took off into the air with the kitten by her side.
As they flew over the forest, they spotted a group of lumberjacks who were planning to cut down the trees. Alice remembered her promise and sprinkled the potion on the lumberjacks, turning them into peaceful birdwatchers.
The kitten purred in delight as Alice landed back at the witch's cottage. The witch congratulated her on her bravery and gave her a locket as a reward.
Alice and the kitten returned home, where they lived happily ever after, protecting the forest from harm.
If Alice hadn't found the kitten, she would never have met the witch, and the forest would have been destroyed.
