From the beginning, humans had great ideas and inventions to share, but they were not able to do that, because they did not have a common communication system. So they invented drawing. Anyone could understand drawings, but they ware not precise, so they had to come up with something new. They noticed that they can make sounds, so they invented sound patterns. But it was not enough. So some guys invented some small symbols, known today as letters. All of those symbols mean a different sound. So the alphabet was created. In Europe, the Romans invented Latin. Soon, all of Europe was speaking Latin. When the Roman Empire fell, the language fell too. Latin evolved differently in every country. They are called today, neo-Latin languages. A few examples of neo-Latin languages are Romanian, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Italian. Today there are more than 100 languages. Communication is very important for humans. The alphabet changed the world
