If anybody (need) ...... phone home for any reason, they (must) ...... ask permission to use the school phone.
Try to keep your room tidy. Don't forget that your landlady (have to) ....... clean your room.
Remind your host that she (have got to)....... provide you with a packed lunch for the Saturday outings.
If you have a student card, you (need) ...... carry a passport.
Remember that you (have got to ).......... book a time if you want to use the tennis courts.

Sunteți la un curs de limbă străină organizat în timpul verii în Marea Britanie. Completați instrucțiunile de mai jos.

Everybody has to attend classes daily but you don't have to take part in the special activities if you don't want to.

If anybody needs to phone home for any reason, they must ask for permission to use the school phone.

Try to keep your room tidy. Don't forget that your landlady doesn't have to clean your room.

Remind your host that she has got to provide you with a packed lunch for the Saturday outings.

If you have a student card, you don't need to carry a passport.

Remember that you have got to book a time if you want to use the tennis courts.

Observații:

1. Se folosește „to have to” la trecut, prezent și viitor pentru a exprima responsabilitatea sau necesitatea.

2. „To have got to” și „to have to” înseamnă unul și același lucru, cu precizarea că „to have got to” este mai informal.

We have to get up  at 6 am.

We have got to get up at 6 am.

Trebuie să ne trezim la 6 dimineața.

3. Folosim „need to” pentru a exprima ceva ce este important pentru tine să faci. E mai curând o responsabilitate față de propriile planuri ale cuiva decât o responsabilitate sau o datorie față de altcineva.

She needs to go to Bucharest to find her uncle.

Ea trebuie să meargă la București să-și găsească unchiul.
