Pentru a afla cât la sută reprezintă x din y , vom amplifica / simplifica fracția x supra y până vom ajunge la numitorul 100 :

a. x / y = 60 / 200 → simplificam prin 2 ⇒ x / y = 30 / 100 ⇒ x este 30 % din y

b. x / y = 400 / 50 → amplificam prin 2 ⇒ x / y = 800 / 100 ⇒ x este 800 % din y

c. x / y = 80 / 1000 → simplificam prin 10 ⇒ x / y = 8 / 100 ⇒ x este 8 % din y
