Yes, I have been to a public library. 

I saw computers where the readers can search for books. There are also big rooms with book shelves with thousands of books you can borrow or just look through. The library also has a section where you can listen to music, borrow DVDs and read newspapers. The reading room is a quiet room where you can sit and read for as long as you want. People use the reading room to access books they aren't able to take home. 

I went there to look for the Harry Potter books. I looked in the electronic catalogue to see where I can find it. Then I went to the bookshelf and asked the librarian to help me borrow it.
