None of his colleagues understood how he managed to miss such an opportunity. But he did not need anybody to understand, or to say that he had made the right choice. He knew what was best for him, and that was enough.
He had the chance of studying abroad, without paying anything, for a whole year. And somehow, from a reason or another, he said it was not for him, and that he had better stayed where he was.
He knew why he had made such a choice, of course, but he would not tell anybody. It was not their problem, and he knew that they could not understand him, anyway.
People don't always ask you something because they really want to know. Actually, they care about something as long as it affects them, or their lives too. He was different - he would not talk to somebody just for the sake of making a conversation, and he would not explain his decisions.
He was very sure that it was the right thing to do, and nothing in the world could make him change his mind. When you are certain about something, you don't need people's approval, or even their understanding.
He had a hidden wish that nobody knew, and nobody was about to know. He was not the kind of person to tell you the plan, but show you the results. When the clock struck one, he got up from the chair, took a pencil and a piece of paper, and started doing what he had been waiting to do for long time.
They could not understand how he could have missed such an opportunity, but neither did they know that there was another opportunity for him, something special, amazing, even magical, you could say.
He was a special man. A man with a wish, with a purpose. He did not care about the way the others saw him - he knew what he was doing.
