Domnul George Robinson , locuieste singur in apartamentul sau. E trist deoarece nu are cu cine sa imparta bucurii sau necazuri, cu cine vorbi, cu cine sa se sfatuiasca.
Aproape toata ziua sta in bucarie si gateste, dupa care spala vasele cu apa calda.
Dar intr-o zi s-a gandit ca ar fi bine sa cunoasca pe cineva cu care sa locuiasca.
Dupa ceva timp a intalnit-o pe doamna Lizzie Appleton. Au vorbit intai la telefon, apoi au inceput sa se viziteze caci se placeau din ce in ce mai mult.
Domnul Robinson fiind un tip timid a trebuit sa-si faca curaj pentru a putea cere in casatorie pe Lizzie.
Doamna Lizzie a acceptat sa-i devina sotie, si s-au casatorit.
Domnul George spera ca acum are cine sa-l ajute in treburile casnice.
Dar mare a fost surpriza sa afle cand doamna Lizzie i-a spus ca ea e acum o “doamna” si prin urmare nu poate gati si nici spala vase.
Ea poate face orice altceva, deoarece nu se considera “femeie in casa”.
Astfel domnul George s-a vazut nevoit sa recunoasca ca a ajuns de unde a plecat.
Exista o singura diferenta acum, domnul George este casatorit.

Mr. George Robinson, lives alone in his apartment. He is sad because he doesn`t have anyone to share the joys or troubles, someone to talk with or who can advise with. Almost all day, he sit in the kitchen and cook, and then he wash with warm water the vessels. But one day he thought that it would be good to know someone with whom to live. After some time he met Mrs. Lizzie Appleton. They talked on the phone first, then began to visit each other because they began to like each other increasingly more. Mr. Robinson is a shy guy so he had to make courage to propose marriage to Lizzie. Mrs. Lizzie agreed to become his wife, and they get married. Mr George believed that now he has someone who can help in housework.But the big surprise was find out when Mrs. Lizzie told him that she is now a "lady" so therefore she can not cook or wash dishes. She can`d do anything because she didn`t consider themself a "house woman".Thus Mr. George was forced to admit that he reached where he left. There is one difference, now, Mr. George is married.
