Christmas has been celebrated since ancient times to mark the birth of Jesus, becoming over the years a celebration of family excellence.

Christmas is the great day of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, being celebrated by all Christians on December 25 of each year.

The Christmas holiday is marked by customs such as carols, decorating the tree and gifts from Santa, long awaited by children from all over the world.

On Santa's Eve, the carols begin and continue until late at night. The carolers announce the birth of the Savior and receive, according to tradition, apples, nuts and pretzels.

In addition to the mystical message, many customs practiced on this day are related to the cult of fertility and attracting good to households. The oldest member of the family must throw grains of wheat and corn in front of the carolers.

The custom of the housewives, regarding the preparation of dishes and rolls for carolers, deserves attention. The baking of ritual cakes imposes certain canons for the housewife. According to tradition, a special cake is made from the first dough, called "Crăciun" or "Crăciunel" in the shape of an unfinished figure eight. Christmas balls are put on the icon and kept until spring, to be distributed to the cattle to keep them healthy.

The Feast of the Nativity gave rise to many customs, decorating the tree being one of them. Beautifully colored globes find their place on the branches of the tree, then tinsel and electric lights. A star is usually placed at the top of the tree, to remind us of the star seen by the three wise men.

The preparation of food takes on the dimensions of an ancient ritual: sausages, drumsticks, cold meats, sausages, pork roast, soup. Sweets are also indispensable: the cake, the pie, the cakes. All these will be part of the Christmas meal, being accompanied by drinks: tuica and various wines.

At Christmas, no one should be upset, but let's all enjoy the Birth of our Savior Jesus Christ!
