I am sailing for about 20 years now, and I came/had come close to death many times. The most dangerous situation I have ever been in was while i was sailing in the pacific.

The weather was calm, and I slept on the deck. I didn't sleep very much in the past week as there were some bad storms.

I woke up and saw a huge wave coming toward me. I knew immediately what it was.

I heard on the radio the day before that a volcano erupted near Hawaii, but I didn't pay any attention to it, as I was about 100 miles further south.
