My weekend in Glengroak
I’m just back from a great weekend in Glengroak. Soon after arriving, we visited Glengroak Castle. We climbed up the main tower which gives a spectacular view of the city and there is also a beautiful Great Hall once used for banquets. I wish I’d been invited to one! Thankfully, the weather was great the next day so we were able to do lots of outdoor activities. We climbed Sidwell Mount, which is only 250m high but still gives a great view of the lake. We had a lovely picnic lunch in the peaceful Glades, a park near Glengroak University. We spent the afternoon walking around the shops of the Old Town. On our last morning we had a traditional Scottish breakfast of haggis, bacon, poached eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms and toast which was delicious!
