The name Great Britain is also used to designate the three component countries of the United Kingdom that are located on this island: England, Wales and Scotland. In Romanian, the United Kingdom is sometimes called, incorrectly, "Great Britain", the correct and complete name for the modern state being, "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland".
