We live in the century of speed, the 21st century, but it is not a novelty that a foreign language is a plus in your life, especially from a professional point of view. Since ancient times, people have at least one foreign language, in addition to their mother tongue (speaking of those with a certain degree of society). The closer we are to the present, the importance of knowing an international language has become increasingly important and useful.

English is currently a must, if I use a term from it, it is a necessity in Romanian. The majority of languages ​​on the Internet are English, and the influence of countries where this world language is spoken (UK, US, etc) has become more and more.

However, there are regions on the globe where you do not only handle English, so it is also necessary to know another foreign language from a wide range (French, German, Russian, etc.).

What are the motivations of learning a foreign language?

Nowadays there are many people who do this just because of the CV layout (which can always bring a salary increase, a better job, maybe a job outside the country). Also, knowing a number of important foreign languages ​​is an asset to competition, whether it's a job, as mentioned above, or to get a scholarship ...

We also prefer to spend our holidays abroad (a trip to Moscow - the rare one, but I have what I have with Russia, a walk on the Champs-Elysees, a trip to the arteries of London, visiting the historic center of a country, etc.).

There are plenty of reasons why you can learn a foreign language, regardless of her name, but I think it is important to look at the purpose (ie learning it), leaving aside the discouragement of the close ones, always keeping it in mind, you lose your motivation (which is very hard to find).

In conclusion, learning a foreign language other than English is a plus, a very important asset that should not be neglected.
