Tom could hear Pilgrim kicking the door of the old stable .The horse looked worse than he remembered. How could he even stand when his front leg was to thin? But here he was , kicking like a wild animal. Tom drove from the stable to Annie's house and pushed the bell. He was surprised at the angry face of the girl who answered the door.As Tom followed Grace into the sitting room, he noticed her leg and her stick.The television was on and Grace sat down in front of it. Tom il putea auzi pe Pilgrim batand usa grajdului vechi. Calul arata mai rau decat isi amintea. Cum putea el sta cand piciorul din fata era asa de slab? Dar uite asa, el batea ca un animal salbatic. Tom a condus de la grajd la casa lui Annie si a sunat la usa. El a fost surprins de fata furioasa a fetei care a raspuns la usa. Cand Tom o urmea pe Grace in camera de zi, el i-a observat piciorul si bastonul. Televizorul era pornit si Grace s-a asezat in fata lui.Tom stia ca ea voia ca el sa se simta nepoftit.
