I think it's wrong that the U.K Government wants to "ban" food and drinks at the public transportation.It's wrong beacuse parents have this responsabilitty for their children's diet.Adults have the right to eat on the bus(example) or drink something.

I personally think that it's not the most effective solution, because the amount of people who eat or drink while they're on a bus is not big, so it wouldn't make a big difference. A more effective solution would be promoting sports by spreading flyers or putting posters on the walls in schools. Banning food and drinks on public transport is not the best idea, therefore, I do not agree with the government decision.
