The Internet has quickly become a highly publicized socio-technical phenomenon. It has had and will have a definite impact on society and its future. People are attracted to this phenomenon and spend a lot of time, changing ways of working or affecting human interaction. It is obvious the tendency of the Internet to revolutionize information and entertainment, affecting their production and consumption, transforming our social life and behavior, even political institutions and the role of citizens within them. Studies conducted on a sample of users and non-users of the Internet have revealed the following:
• As the number of years since the use of the Internet increases, the number of hours increases, the Internet becoming indispensable. The participants of a survey agreed to stay off the Internet for two weeks. After only two days some of them "felt strange", and after five days they gave up this survey. A very small number of people resisted, but they said they would not want to repeat this experience.
• About a quarter of regular Internet users (more than 5 hours a week) feel that they have significantly reduced their time spent with family of friends, as well as free time.
• More than a quarter of those who use the internet at work, states that the number of hours worked at home on the Internet has increased, without this reducing the number of hours worked at work.
• 60% of the regular users of the Internet, even though, the Internet has reduced the number of hours spent in front of the television, and a third states that, they spend less and less time reading the newspapers.
Thanks to the internet, there is almost nothing that can not be done from the comfortable armchair at home, from visiting the shops of all types, paying the bills, research and documentation work for various works and even maintaining connections with friends who are thousands of kilometers away. away. Communication, which previously meant writing letters, has now been reduced to a few clicks of the mouse; thus, people have the possibility to correspond by e-mail much faster and more efficiently than by traditional mail. The positive aspects of the Internet cannot be measured, while some of the negative aspects can be easily highlighted.
