VI . Rewrite in your notebooks the following text into Direct Speech : I answered , said hello and I asked who was on the phone .
My friend said that it was Maria and that she had a very serious problem .
She asked me to help her , as she did not know what to do and she was desperate . I advised her to calm down and asked her to tell me what had happened , otherwise I could not help her . My friend said that she thought her kitchen sink was clogged up again , and so was the bathtub . She asked what she should do in that case . I said that I honestly did not know as in the case of such problems it was my brother who took care of them . She said that I was really lucky and she wanted to know if I could ask my husband what she had to do . I answered positively and said that I would have better sent him to her apartment and he would see there what should be done . My friend was happy that I could do that for her and said that would be just perfect . I told her that I would tell my husband about the problem and he would probably be over her place in about one hour . My friend said she would wait for him and hoped nothing worse happened till he arrived . I told her not to worry as everything would be fine . My friend thanked me a lot and said she really appreciated my help and that she would be waiting for him . I told her that I would talk with her soon and said goodbye .​
