-Good afternoon Martha! I'm doing great. What brings you here today?
-I'm sorry for disturbing you without asking before, but I have something important I must ask.
-Sure thing Martha. There's no bother, come in please! Here, have a sit.
-Thank you Mrs Ballner.
-Would you like a tea?
-No, thank you very much! I'm here for a short time. I just wanted to ask if your son, Paul, is home by any chance.
-No, he's not home unfortunately. He is at his grandparents'. Is there anything he did?
-That's what I wanted to ask you. He played football with my brother, Kevin, yesterday.
After they went to get ice cream, my mom and I went outside to pick up apples. My mom observed that one of the windows was cracked, and therefore, when the boys returned home, she asked them if they know anything about it.
They both said no. But you see Mrs Ballner, after your son went home, Kevin said Paul cracked the window, on purpose. He got angry that Kevin was hungry and didn't want to play football anymore, so he hit the ball in the window's direction. Kevin said that Paul then laughed.
-Hmmm.. That sounds horrible Martha!
-Mrs Ballner,I'm not here to snitch on Paul, I'm just here to solve the problem. If Kevin lies, my mom must punish him, because I don't want my brother to grow up into a liar. But if he doesn't lie, I feel like it's better I tell you about your son, for I wouldn't want my brother's friend to grow into a liar either.
-Thank you so much for stepping by. I am happy you told me about this. Something similar happened last month, and Paul was involved. I must have a serious talk with him, and after that I'll call your mother.
