Peştera Urşilor or Bears' Cave is a beautiful place in Bihor County, Romania. I have been there on my last vacation with my parents and a few friends and everyone was impressed by the simple yet wonderful atmosphere we found there. Getting there by car is a great experience because you get to see a bit of the contryside and the peace and serenity it has to offer. You might come across a flock of sheep and their shephard blocking the way but if the weather is great you won't mind it and even think of taking a picture. That is not something people who live in big cities get to see every day. Once you arrive, a polite guide will lead the way to an elevator that gets underground. Before that, you have the opportunity to admire a heavenly panorama of the hills and villages nearby. Inside, everything is out of this world. The way the light shines over the dripstones that formed throughout centuries somehow makes you travel to long-forgotten times in history when bears actually lived there. You get to observe up and close nature'a wonders and navigate through chambers that remind you of Jules Verne's novels. I strongly recommend that you go and see for yourselves and you will not regret it. As a bonus, local artisans will be waiting outside and offer you syrrups or handcrafted goods from their own gardens, providing for a great moment to buy a souvenir. This is a place I will never forget and guarantee that you won't either once you decide to come.
