Hey There!
Here's a story containing the words:
It was just another day at the police station. The police had been looking over at a case of a possible murder. This case was different than others. It was not a random common murder that you get to see here and there in the news. This was something else.
The victim was a very famous pathologist, who had been killed just the previous night. The police made their way to the pathologist's lab along with a forensic scientist. They started to analyze the conditions of the murder.
The body of the pathologist lay there. There were no signs of any wound. There was no blood to be seen around. There were, however, lots of cloth fibers lying at one corner of the lab. They seemed to be some clue, and they sent them for further analysis and as an evidence.
Later, the forensic scientist started studying the fibers and the body. There was one thing in particular. There was one kind of fingerprint seen all over the fibers, but it was faded to a remarkable extent. They were faded so much that a complete identification couldn't be even done.
As the post-mortem report was prepared, it became clear that the pathologist was neither strangled nor wounded. This might be some case of chemical poisoning. But there were no signs of any lethal chemical inside the body. The chemical had vanished. There were no signs of foreign materials inside the body.
The police started rounding people which they deemed as suspicious. The primary suspect was the lab assistant of the pathologist. The police felt that the assistant must have poured some chemical over the cloth fibers and must have poisoned the pathologist.
The police interrogated him for hours but the assistant kept saying that he was innocent and that he had no idea that his master had died in the night.
The police were scratching their heads over the case. A few days later, an interesting info came in the hands of the police. The pathologist was a researcher, and he had been publishing about the effects of certain modified medicines on specific diseases. The scientific fraternity also observed a peculiar pattern in the research papers that he had published.
The pathologist had been experimenting on a specific medicine which could cure many viral infections. He had been modifying the contents slightly and experimenting.
They called a Molecular Chemist to the crime scene. After an investigation of a few hours, the Chemist presented a very probable and a very likely hypothesis:
"The pathologist had been doing certain chemical reactions on the specific medicine now and then. He must have mixed something, which made the reaction mixture very volatile. The resulting chemical would have turned to gaseous phase immediately, and the chemist must have inhaled it by accident. The gas must have also come in contact with the pathologist's body. The effect must not be pleasant. The pathologist must have then started to try to rub off the unpleasant sticky feeling off his hands and body with the help of fibers. Then he must have thrown them all in one corner.
The inhaled gas must have started causing its lethal effects a few minutes later. The gas perhaps decomposed into something very poisonous and killed the pathologist. The poisonous product might then have been immediately decomposed into normal chemicals found in the body just as he died."
This theory matched every evidence known. Further investigations revealed that the assistant could not have been the culprit as it was proved that he was elsewhere.
The exact chemical which caused the death remained a mystery, but by then it had been generally accepted that the death was an accident.
The pathologist died due to an accident during an experiment. The scientific community mourned the death of an established researcher. No one was ever convicted. Everyone else was innocent. It was an accident, and that remains the fact till date.
