Music is the universal language. I believe that using songs to learn English is a good way to understand how native speakers communicate in everyday life situations and convey their emotions. If we pay atention we might even remember a lot of the words we hear becase a good song is sure to activate our auditory memory. Listening to songs is a good way to become interested in any language and while trying to understand the lyrics, one might also explore this type of art form and become passionate about both. One disadvantage would be that at first you should look up the words in the dictionary and it can become tedious to do so but after a while you should notice a big improvement in the range of vocabulary. Since a song is poetry mixed with music, grammar is less important than artistic effect and because of this it is not a good way to improve this aspect of language learning.
