During his reign, Ştefan cel Mare (Ștefan Vodá)
fought lots of battles. He won most of them. Once,
at the beginning of Ştefan Voda's reign, the Turks
defeated him. Little remained of his army.
Weak and tired, Ștefan Vodă came to the convent
where his mother lived. He asked for shelter. His
mother approached the door and said: “My son, I
think that you have returned with victory".
"No, mother. The Turks defeated my army. The
enemy is on my tracks. I hope to find shelter in
your convent and gather my remaining forces.
Then, I'll be ready to fight again”.
"I can't give shelter to those who run away from
the battlefield. Go and defeat the enemy of our
Motherland. Win the battle or die for your land.
Only then will I know that you are my son."
Ștefan Vodă went away. He gathered the remains
of his army and finally defeated the Turks. The

Explicație: În timpul domniei sale, Ștefan cel Mare a purtat multe bătălii. Le-a castigat pe majoritatea. Candva, la începutul domniei sale turcii l-au învins. Mica ramasita a armatei sale era slăbită si obosită.
Stefan Vodă a venit la mănăstirea in care locuia mama sa căutând adăpost. Mama lui s-a apropiat de usa si a zis:
" Fiul meu, bănuiesc că te-ai intors victorios"
"Nu, mama. Turcii mi-au învins armata, inamicul este pe urmele mele. Sper sa gasesc adăpost în mănăstirea ta si sa imi adun forțele. Atunci voi fi gata sa lupt din nou"
" Nu pot sa ofer adăpost celor care fug de pe câmpul de luptă. Du-te si invinge inamicul patriei noastre. Câștigă batalia sau mori pentru tara ta. Doar atunci voi sti cu adevărat că ești fiul meu"
Ștefan Vodă a plecat, a adunat rămășițele armatei sale si in sfarsit a învins turcii. Bătălia a avut loc în Valea Alba
